James D. Paisley, Ph.D.

Dr. Paisley is a licensed psychologist with more than 35 years experience as a consultant. He has provided assessment, management development, coaching and career counseling services to individuals and corporate groups. He joined Leathers Milligan & Associates as a partner in 1997.

Specializing in career consulting, pre-employment and internal assessment, and coaching of key executives, Jim has served a variety of Fortune 50 as well as smaller corporate clients. He has assisted executives from diverse industries in the job-search/career-transition process.

Jim has provided seminars to employees on topics such as: Resolving Conflict in the Workplace; Anger Management; Stress in the Workplace and The Low-Down on High EQ. As a guest on local radio talk shows, he has discussed workplace stress and conflict management and has been quoted in Fortune magazine on the same topics.

For six years he served as Vice-President of the Research and Development Division of the largest independent world-wide career management consulting firm. The organization has 70 offices in the U. S. and approximately 190 offices world-wide. On the domestic side, Jim was recognized for his outstanding leadership of the “Division making the greatest contribution to the organization.”

He operated a clinical psychology practice in Scottsdale for number of years. As a consultant to police departments in Mesa, Scottsdale and Phoenix, Jim provided traumatic-incident counseling, completed evaluations, and provided employee assistance services to police officers and their family members.

Jim served as a classroom instructor in the Air Force Aviation Cadet Pre-Flight Program and was a single-engine jet pilot and flight instructor.

He received a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University, a Master’s in Personnel Service from the University of Colorado and a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from Montana State University. While at the University of Colorado, he was a staff member of the Counseling and Testing Center and the Dean of Men’s Office prior to accepting the position of Dean of Students at the University of Redlands.

As an adjunct faculty member in the Graduate School at Arizona State University, he taught psychological measurement and counseling classes.

Jim has been an officer in the Arizona State Psychological Association and the Arizona Career Development Association. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, a member of the National Register of Health Service Providers in Psychology, and the Arizona Personnel Testing Council.  He maintains his affiliation with the company as a consultant at the present time.

 

Gwen Merry Scheetz, CMF

Gwen has an extensive background in Human Resources (HR) with over twenty-five years in Learning and Development, Organization Development (OD), Career Management, Employee Relations and Staffing. Gwen is the Vice President and Owner of Acadia Business Systems, a consulting firm that specializes in training, OD, and career management projects. Clients include Fortune 100 firms as well as smaller businesses and individuals.

Gwen’s learning and organization development projects include employee surveys, organization assessments, leadership assessments, competency modeling, team building, coaching, developing leaders, and the design, development and delivery of customized training programs. Customized training programs that she has developed include:  leadership skills, supervisory skills, change management, interpersonal skills, facilitation, and customer service.

As a Senior Consultant and Organization Development Practice Leader with Leathers Milligan & Associates–OI Partners, a management/consulting firm, Gwen focused on outplacement/career transition projects, coaching, team building and training and organization development. Her career includes twenty-one years with Honeywell, Inc. where she held both generalist and specialist positions in Human Resources. Her leadership experience includes department manager and team leader for division and corporate task teams.

While at Honeywell, she led the Skills Transition and Learning System initiatives which provided a structured approach to learning and introduced new automated tools to assist managers and employees in preparing development plans. Other key projects included implementation and integration of learning databases, web-enabled access to learning tools, skills assessments, competency management, and technology resources for HR.

Gwen has a degree in Education, with a concentration in psychology, from the University of Illinois, Champaign, Illinois. She also attended the Bath College of Higher Education (Bath, Avon, England). She is a member in the Association for Talent Development (ATD) formerly known as the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).

Gwen is a certified Career Management Fellow (CMF). She is also a certified instructor in a number of key programs including: LET (Leader Effectiveness Training), Seven Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey), Career Architect and Leadership Architect (Lominger), and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Other programs she has developed include: management training, team leader training, change management, facilitation, customer service, interviewing, mentoring and new hire orientation.

She is the co-author of “Navigating Projects: A Roadmap to Success” and a contributor to the “Career Transition Guide: The 3 Step Solution.”

 

Marilyn Bechtold, M.S., NCCC, CMF

Marilyn Bechtold has worked with numerous professionals and executives from a wide variety of industry backgrounds and with some of the largest corporate clients across the country in meeting career transition and change needs. In that process, she has helped hundreds of people to reach their career goals and full potential.

Marilyn has an extensive background in career consulting and assessment, corporate outplacement, executive coaching, and training with an emphasis on career and change management programs. She is a certified Career Management Fellow with the Institute of Career Certification International.

She is a National Certified Career Counselor and a member of the National Board of Certified Counselors. Marilyn is certified in various assessment tools used for career consulting, executive coaching and team building.

Marilyn has a Master of Science in Education/Counseling and a Bachelor of Science in Business Education from Northern Illinois University.

She has coached professionals and executives from various industries including financial services, legal, high-tech, healthcare, manufacturing, real estate, utilities, retail, advertising, and insurance.

She taught classes at the College of Business at Arizona State University on career assessment, resume development, and career self-marketing.

Prior to moving to Arizona, Marilyn spent twenty years at Stanford University where she was instrumental in the development, design, and delivery of career management and transition programs. She also developed, managed and facilitated the University’s outplacement program.
